I came across Fortune and Glory: A True Hollywood Comic Book Story by Brian Micahel Bendis at my local library "graphic novel" section read it over an hour. It's nothing new to who read other comparable tales, like You'll Never Eat Lunch in This Town Again, but he offers personal perspectives of an outsider/comic book artist who got 'the heat' for his material and had to deal with Hollywood 'personalities.' No, his movie didn't come out yet, but you can check out his great works at his site, Jinx.
I love the advice that he got from his producer friend: "No fear. Don't be afraid to walk away."
This book proves once more that Hollywood doesn't know a good story until the story bites its ass off. I truly want to believe that's not the case, though.
